In terms of Section 4 (1) (d) and 4 (2) of the Regulation of Insurance Industry Act, No.43 of 2000, his Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapakse, in his capacity as the Hon. Minister of Finance and Planning, has appointed Mrs. Indrani Sugathadasa as a Member and the Chairperson of the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka (IBSL) succeeding Mr. Udayasri Kariyawasam.

Mrs. Sugathadasa, a senior civil servant, was previously Secretary to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and the Ministry of Children’s Development and Women’s Empowerment.
